Buy the Right Baby Car Seats and Gear to Celebrate Baby Safety Month

September is Baby Safety Month. Every year, the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) sponsors this event to help educate parents about infant safety. Many of our clients at Ludovissy & Associates are new parents and new grandparents, so we want to be certain that all of these new arrivals stay as safe as possible, too.

LudovissyWhat is JPMA?

This organization was founded in 1976 to certify baby products like high chairs, car seats and baby gates. Participation in the certification is voluntary, but when you see the JPMA seal on baby products, you can be sure they have been checked and found in conformance with the international standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials, or ASTM.

These are some tips to help you buy the right vehicle seats and gates:

  • Safety gates: Only use pressure-mounted gates in areas where there is no danger of falling. For example, you should always use hardware-mounted gates at the top of stairs.
  • Baby car seats: You should use a car seat that faces the rear of your vehicle for infants, and you should avoid placing children in the front seat.

We Can Help Protect Your Whole Family

Many new parents decide they need to buy life insurance or upgrade their health insurance. At Ludovissy & Associates, we are independent insurance agents who can help you shop the market for the best coverage at an affordable price. We also offer coverage for homes, cars, businesses, and farms, plus a variety of financial services for our clients in the Tri-State Area. We can chat with you on the phone or schedule an appointment at your convenience.
