Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Today marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, and while many things have changed in 45 years, one thing remains the same, we need to consciously take care of this planet we call home. Individuals as well as businesses have a responsibility to do all that we can to preserve our planet and its natural resources.

Here are some tips that are easy to implement but can make a big difference.

Go Paperless (or at least use less paper)
Businesses: be responsible with your printing, by printing less you save on paper and toner, which not only helps the environment but helps your bottom line.
Individuals: use the backs of all of the papers your kids bring home from school to print on when necessary.

Programmable Thermostat
Programmable thermostats save energy in your home or business, which saves you money, and they reduce pollution

Recycle
Keep your recycle bins readily available to everyone and make sure everyone is aware of what can and cannot be recycled.

Paper products
Limit use of paper products. Use regular coffee cups instead of paper cups in the office. Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins or paper towels at home.

These tips are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to ways we can protect our environment.Check out these great resources for more tips or on ways you can get involved and participate in Earth Day activities.

I think Dr. Seuss says it best “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better…it’s not.” ~ The Lorax
